Pimville conversions to prepaid split metering and vending points

For any electricity related enquiries, customers are requested to call Eskom’s Contact Centre 08600 37566 (24hrs).

Eskom customers in Pimville Zones 3, 4 and 5 in Soweto can purchase the electricity vouchers at the Lavani Fruit and Veg next to Meli Lounge in Pimville Zone 3, Shell Garage opposite Bara Mall, any Spar, Pick n Pay or Shoprite in their area.

Customers need to make sure that they produce their prepaid cards when purchasing electricity vouchers.

Converted customers will not be able to purchase prepaid electricity without the prepaid card. Without the Customer Interface Unit (CIU) customers will not be able to load the purchased electricity voucher onto the prepaid card.

Eskom will credit the prepaid meters with 200 kWh at conversion to allow customers to have power until they can purchase their first electricity voucher.

Should the supplied 200 kWh of electricity run out before the customer purchases and loads their first prepaid voucher, the power supply of their home will switch off.

Customers without the interface unit are advised to visit the Eskom Office at 24649 Chris Hani Road, Diepkloof Zone 6 to collect their prepaid cards and CIUs which will enable them to buy and load the prepaid electricity vouchers.

Eskom commenced with meter conversions in Pimville in January 2018.

For any electricity related enquiries, customers are requested to call Eskom’s Contact Centre 08600 37566 (24hrs).
