#SundayRECAP: Money matters made easy

Iso lempilo's Finance Workshop.

Iso lempilo community-based organisation hosted a finance workshop at Siyavuma Primary School in Jabulani.

Given the wild spending culture that comes with the festive season, the workshop comes in handy both for the festive period and in preparation for their recruitment.

Facilitated by Standard Bank, the financial literacy workshop was tailor-made for work purposes in the health sector and is accompanied by an accredited certificate.

Nkosana Mbongwe works for the organisation and says the training received has enlightened him financially and has learnt ways of making his money last longer.

“As much as this may be an organisation and saving money may be a challenge, ideas such as group saving makes sense as small and manageable investments,” said Mbongwe.

Although based in Jabulani, the organisation functions to service different health facilities around Soweto.

“We have seen a gap in our public health facilities and subsequently started an organisation to fill in those gaps so that health services can improve. Thus we offer training in the organisation for different positions that will give support in the health sector,” said Sheryl Zwane.
