Bramfischerville Clinic to open officially tomorrow at Multipurpose Centre

Bramfischerville residents will be relieved from their stresses as a new temporary clinic will serve the community and provide the necessary help needed.

The community of Braamfischerville in Soweto will no longer have to travel 6 or 8 Kilometres before accessing free Primary Health Care services.

The alleviation of this major challenge is as a result of the Gauteng Department of Health initiatives to open Braamfischerville clinic doors for the first time on Thursday, March 16, 2017.

The eight-roomed temporary fabricated structure is a great improvement from long travelling to Soul Plaatjie clinic which is small and about six kilometres away and Itireleng Community Health Centre which is about eight KMs away, where this community used to access health services.

“I am very happy about the health department interventions to bring health services to our door step. Before this clinic, people had to travel long distances irrespective of how sick they were,” said Ward 49 Councillor Mandla Mlangeni.

According to Mlangeni, having this clinic in their ward will bring a huge relief to the community members, as some of them had to walk to the clinics because they did not have money to pay for transport.

The current staff members which will ensure the smooth running of the clinic ranges to a total number of eighteen people, which entails the following categories: 5 Primary Health Care clinicians, 3 Professional Nurses, 3 Staff Nurses, 2 Enrolled Nursing Assistants, 2 Cleaners and 2 Administrative Clerks. A sessional doctor coverage will be apportioned from Discoverers Community Health Centre (CHC).

Among services that will be rendered at the clinic include: HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis, Chronic Care Services, Acute Curative Services, Family Planning, Antenatal and Post Natal Care, Ward Based Outreach referrals, Mental Health services, Eye Care, Oral Health Services, Expanded Programmes on Immunisations, Pharmaceutical services, Nutrition programme, Emergency Health Services, Environmental Health Services as per demand, Maternal, Child and Women’s Health and Health Promotion services.
