Ariel Stokvel Academy supports women in business

Entrepreneurship and financial planning were the topics of the day

Leading detergent brand Ariel partnered with the Stokvel Academy and Business Skills South Africa (BSSA) to host the Ariel Stokvel Academy last week Saturday at Diepkloof Multipurpose Centre.

This is the first year that the Ariel Stokvel Academy has given this training, and you can sign up for the one-day courses in Gauteng in February and April as well as in Kwa-Zulu Natal in March and May.

“The Ariel Stokvel Academy is open to anyone, but it is specifically designed for you if you are a woman between the ages 25 and 55, a stokvel member and someone who wants to start or grow your small business,” said Busi Skenjana, founder of the Stokvel Academy and BSK Marketing.

Jeanne du Plessis explained the whole idea behind the establishment of the Ariel Stokvel Academy.

“As Ariel, we stand with women as they strive to grow; we actively support their empowerment,” said Du Plessis.

“By supporting women and their stokvels, we aim to not only uplift the individual, but also her strongest and most loyal support structure, her stokvel. This is why we have established the Ariel Stokvel Academy.”

The Academy did not only focus on stokvels but also on entrepreneurship and financial planning.

The entrepreneurship course content included topics about the difference between being employed and starting your own business.

Budgeting and a debt reduction plans were also discussed. Present at the event was renowned gospel legend and Ariel ambassador Rebecca Malope as well as radio legend Dudu Khoza.
