Sekwati Primary School makes adjustments for 2017

Snooky Msibi hopes to see more confident and assertive learners

With an admission of 30 Grade 1 learners this year, Snooky Msibi -principal of Sekwati Primary School – said she still wants the numbers to grow.

“Yes I’m happy with the number of children enrolled this year. It is great to teach small classes however we are still admitting learners,” said Msibi.

Msibi said the plan this year is to focus mostly on developing confident children that are assertive.

“This year I want to make schooling a safe and enjoyable place for all children. To develop the best, assertive and responsible learner who can face challenges with confidence,” said Msibi.

“I believe all children can learn irrespective of life challenges they experience’ she added.

When it comes to what she wants to improve on this year Msibi mentioned computer literacy.

‘I want to produce learners who are computer literate and learners who will assert themselves positively in our country’ said Msibi.

The first day of schooling this year was a breeze for Msibi.

Msibi said what stood out for her was seeing the happy little faces and the sad starry ones too.

“I assured them that all is well and this will be their second home for the next few years,” she said.
