Deal with broom manufactures.

Being an unemployed parent can be very depressing, so some parents are combating the stress and hunger by selling brooms in Diepkloof.

Sibusisiwe Siziba from Everton travels all the way to Diepkloof daily to sell brooms so that she can be able to cook something in the evening for her family.

Diepkloof is the location and township in Soweto nearer to the Johannesburg CBD, has a high volume of business and an above average rate income. This causes hopeful entrepreneurs to flood the township with the hope of making profit.

Siziba and Lindiwe Camagu (21) are an example of this group of hopeful sales people who daily fight hunger by sales. Camagu explained their partnership with the broom manufacturers who loan them 30 brooms and remunerate them with 25 brooms.

Siziba said, “It is very difficult to sell the brooms under the scorching sun or unpleasant weathers, but on an average we sell 10-15 brooms a day.”

Camagu and Siziba are both from Zimbabwe and are both with passports, they came to better their lives here in South Africa for their children.
The two ladies who sell broom withstand all challenges they face daily so that their children and loved ones will go to sleep with something in their tummies.

Siziba said, “Getting a job would be like a dream. I will be able to pay for my children’s education.”

Camagu who has one child said, “I only desire good education for my children.”
