Andile has always been a top student while her brother gradually became one.

‘I have always loved Mathematics, I even won a numeracy challenge in Grade 3, the passion for Physical Sciences however was ignited by Justine Mavhunga of Ekasi Initiative, an organisation that offers weekend and holiday classes for Grade 10’s to Grade 12’s. I have received more certificates for being a top Math student in Grade 7 and Grade 8’, said Andile.

When asked about the support structure that assisted them throughout their matric year both siblings gave credit to their mother. ’She would even do chores for us, just so we have time to study’ said Wandile. ‘There is no formula when it comes to passing matric but if you ask most matriculants they will tell you the same thing that it is hard work’ said Andile. ‘They must just study hard, manage their time correctly and prioritise their activities properly,’ added Wandile.
