Two Kliptown men held for unlicensed firearms

The pair is believed to be linked to a series of robberies in the area.

Kliptown police have secured another victory in their fight against crime. This comes after they busted the two men for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Friday.

The arrest was a result of a tip-off from residents. “Police officers reacted swiftly to information from residents and two men were arrested.

“They were charged and appeared briefly at  the Lenasia Magistrate Court for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition,” said police spokesperson captain Hitler Ngwenya.

The two men are believed to be linked to a series of armed robberies which have been happening in the Kliptown policing area. Police thank residents for their cooperation which led to the arrest of the two men.
