The upgrades are intended to make a meaningful contribution as the facilities are utilized by the local community and surrounding schools. The aim is to sustain the interest and steady flow of talent moving up the ranks from primary level to club and franchise level even to the Proteas.

More than 800 local school pupils attended the match as guests because at the heart of the Momentum eKasi Challenge is the goal to nurture local cricket.

The coach for Multiply Titans Mark Boucher said, “It was refreshing watching Bavuma score a century, even though I’m the competitor’s coach.”

Emmanuel Mahlangu the Momentum CSI manager said, “We are using this tool as a catalyst to make cricket accessible in the townships.”

Momentum really believes that they can develop communities through sports, according to Mahlangu.
