On Monday morning a man died and another was injured during a shoot out at the entrance of Jabulani Mall.
This happened after the intervention task team received a tip off from the community about a plot of robbery at the mall.
11 men allegedly from Jabulani Hostel arrived at the entrance of Jabulani Mall at around 7 in the morning in four vehicles including a Jeep, two Toyota Quantum and a Toyota Corrola.
The Tactical Response Team was deployed at the mall and when the four vehicles arrived, the shoot- out began from between the entrance of the mall and the gate of the Police Station.
Two men got shot at and one died while five men got arrested near police station after the shoot -out.
Later on, police found a second vehicle with three men and recovered two pistols at Bolani road near the robots.
A third vehicle, a Toyota Corrola was found near the mechanics on Bolani road and two men were found, one was injured and the other was arrested.
Police have opened a case of being in position of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, conspiracy to commit robbery and attempted murder.
Six firearms were recovered, three pistols and three riffles which will be taken to ballistics.
