R45 000 spent in touching lives

Needy pupils given new uniform to keep warm this winter.

Dobsonville Shopping Centre in partnership with Soweto TV raised funds, bought complete school uniform and donated them to pupils at Thathezakho Primary School.

This included shoes, trousers, socks, shirts and others.

According to centre manager Justin Mabalane, the school management helped in identifying the most needy children to benefit from this outreach programme.

Mabalane said: “R45 000 was spent in covering the cost of all the items bought for about 150 needy children.

“We want all pupils to feel united with their fellows and to worry less about catching cold this winter,” he said.

For the past four years, the shopping centre rolled out similar programmes.

Mabalane thanks owners of the shopping centre, Vukile Property Fund for making financial contributions all the time and for buying into the idea of making a difference in society.
