Big plans for local clinics

City to improve the level of services at health facilities.

Residents in Doornkop (Snake Park) expressed their concerns at the Ntirhisano Campaign gathering regarding the two clinics in their area namely Siphumlile and Bophelong Clinics.

They complained about; the size of the interior stressing that it is able to accommodate a small number of people, the lack of ambulances during emergency situations and hours spent in queues.

Member of Executive Committee for Health and Social Development, Qedani Mahlangu said: “The City of Joburg has noted all residents’ concerns and recognises the fact that there’s a need for a bit of transformation thereof.”

Mahlangu said the clinic in Ward 129 is going to be extended.

“We are going to visit all health clinics in Doornkop to conduct an inspection in order to see how bad the situation really is and how we can help to make lives better for the people,” she said.

She said Itireleng Clinic will be improved to offer additional services.
