The future of learning is here

Education MEC officially launched the paperless classroom programme.

The rollout of the technology programme by the Department of Education was officially launched on Tuesday July 20, by the education MEC Panyaza Lesufi.

The launch was part of the MECs Imbizo with Grade 12 pupils at the Grace Bible Church in Pimville.

The MEC explained to thousands of pupils the department’s commitment to providing them with quality education.

“From Tuesday your teachers will not give you work to do on papers but you will be using your tablets,” said Lesufi.

He went on to urge pupils to take good care of their tablets and make sure that they use them only for learning purposes.

The rolling out of tablets and interactive boards by the department is part of the paperless classroom programme.

“We as the government are investing in your future because you are the future of this country. That is why we have also committed ourselves to making sure that every Grade 11 pupil graduate with a K53 this year,” concluded Lesufi.
