Metrobus rolls out new bus fleet

Metrobus will roll out their new bus fleet which includes dual fuel buses as well as the conversion and rehabilitation of existing buses.

Metrobus will begin to roll out their new bus fleet on July 24 to ensure an improved adequate service delivery for commuters.

The new fleet will include new dual fuel buses as well as the conversion and rehabilitation of existing buses to use both diesel and compressed natural gas (CNG).

The buses will be rebranded to reflect Metrobus’s commitment to quality service delivery and drivers are being retrained to ensure passenger safety and improved customer service.

This comes months after Metrobuses were involved in an accident that killed two people and injured 64 and in another incident; the bus went over the Queen Elizabeth Bridge in Johannesburg CBD after the driver reportedly lost control.

Details of the number of buses to be introduced, and whether or not this rollout will affect bus fares will be revealed at the launch.
