At least one cop was shot during the hijack.
It is alleged that the five men were armed with pistols .
The police said that so far they haven’t made any arrests but the case is still under investigation.
“The case is still under investigation, the police officer who was shot is doing fine,” said Lucas Khoza, investigating officer in this case.
The truck was found deserted at Protea South Informal Settlement where some people from the community stole the cigarette boxes that were in the truck.
About four people were arrested on the day of the incident after being found with the stolen cigarettes.
