Residents protest in Doornkop
Roads blocked with rocks by angry residents over crime in the area.
A protest broke out last night in Snake Park, Soweto, around 10pm.
It is alleged that 12 plasma TVs were stolen by a group of men who terrorise the community.
All roads entering the area have been blocked.
The community alleges police arrested five locals for the demonstration and for blocking roads.
One vehicle was allegedly attacked and the driver lost control and hit a wall.
Dobsonville police spokesman Mzwakhe Xazi confirmed the incident but said he’s still gathering facts around it.
As for now, the mob has stopped demonstrating but are still on the road near the Doornkop Police Station.
