Police take girl children to work
Kliptown police participate in the Take a Girl Child to Work Campaign.
This year, female managers at the Kliptown Police Station took part in the Take a Girl Child to Work Campaign.
They commemorated the day on May 8.
The programme saw ten pupils from different schools in Pimville get a chance to be police officers for a day.
Participating schools were Emshukantambo, Progress, Thaba Jabula and Mmusi High School.
Pupils were given a chance to work and experience firsthand what women in the police force do on a daily.
Take a Girl Child to Work Campaign is an initiative by the South African business community driven by Cell C and aimed at inspiring young girls and open chances for them in different careers.
Take a Girl Child to work is officially celebrated on May 28 and this year’s theme is, “Dream, Believe and Achieve”.
