Last night five suspected criminals were arrested for serious crimes such as rape, murder and high-jacking.
According to Moroka SAPS communications officer, John Serala, these five have been on the most wanted list for a while now.
Serala said they acted swiftly after they received a tip off from residents.
“After a woman called our station and informed us that she saw the quantum taxi that’s been wanted for a long time, we assigned our officers and acted quickly.
“All the suspects were arrested and will soon appear at the Protea Magistrates Court,” said Serala.
He said when these suspects apply for bail they will strongly oppose it.
“These are dangerous criminals not needed in our society.”
