Car crashes into RDP house

Community help Mazibuko pick up pieces.

The branch secretary of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Ward 49, Simphiwe Thwala, said he appreciates all the businesses and individuals whom have volunteered to help Joan Mazibuko, owner of the RDP house hit by a vehicle in Bramfischer Phase Three.

Immediately after hearing about the incident, Thwala said party members visited the family to ask if they could help.

Thwala said: “We instantaneously called a public meeting and pleaded with the residents to contribute any amount they could afford to be used in purchasing building material or giving to the family.

“R562 was raised after residents donated at least R10.”

Mazibuko (house owner) confirmed that the house has been completely damaged.

She said her wardrobe, washing machine and other valuables were destroyed in the crash.

“The house needs to be rebuilt as it looks like it may collapse at any time, it is not safe,” said Mazibuko.

Dobsonville police communications officer Constable Mzwakhe Xazi could not confirm the incident but said they will look into it.
