Majola takes care of disabled children

Simthembile Homes needs your help.

Johannes Majola, a 44 year old from Protea North runs a centre where he takes care of disabled children.

Simthembile Homes was established in 2012 by Majola.

The centre cares for children from the ages of three to 12-years and is currently looking after six children.

Before opening the centre, Majola used to work at Avril Elizabeth Home where he was the manager and that is where he acquired most of his skills on how to look after children with disabilities.

He said that he decided to open the centre because after 23-years of working at a home, he thought it would be great if he could stand up and open a centre where he will continue to care for disabled children.

Majola does not work alone but is assisted by Sikhanyile Dlamini who nurses the children and they do that without getting any income.

The centre needs some support from the community such as volunteers to assist with donations.

Despite the setbacks, Majola said he will continue to care for these children no matter what.
