Metrorail trains delayed

Train commuters had to look for alternative transport after a power failure at some stations in Joburg.

Thousands of Metrorail Gauteng commuters have had to seek for alternative transport as trains got delayed due to power failure this morning.

Routes affected seem to have included the Naledi to Johannesburg route and Vereeniging to Johannesburg.

Gauteng Metrotail spokesperson, Lillian Mofokeng said in a statement the delays were between Midway, Nancefield, Kliptown and Orlando.

An employee at the Orlando Train Station said she had to walk from Kliptown as there were no trains.

The trains started functioning as normal from 8am according to  Thandeka Arosi, a commuter.
