Pikitup will be busy collecting refuse as usual, except on Christmas Day during the festive season.
Rubbish will be collected on the public holidays of Thursday, December 16 and Monday, December 27.
Christmas Day will fall on a Thursday this year.
“Pikitup will collect waste as normal on the two public holidays. Our garden sites will also be operational on all public holidays except for December 25,” said Pansy Jali-Oyedele, the communications manager at Pikitup.
The garden sites will be opened from 8am to 3pm.
“We are aware of the fact that with more residents hosting family gatherings, there is more refuse than usual at this time of the year and we are therefore going the extra mile in ensuring that our vehicles and teams are available for business,” she said.
