Taxi strike on Monday
Residents advised to use alternative transport as there will be no operating taxis due to strike on Monday.
Gauteng taxi commuters will be left stranded on Monday as there will be a taxi strike.
According to Jack Masejoameng public relations officer for the Phefeni Wescol Taxi Association said the taxi industry wants to air out their grievances to government.
“There is a delay in obtaining our operating licenses and when we do get the licenses we are given temporary licenses. We want the same treatment as our fellow counterparts Rea Vaya and Metrobus.
“Law enforcement is constantly mistreating us. We want the same recognition and treatment that Rea Vaya transportation is getting,” said Masejoameng.
According to Masejoameng the strike will last all day on Monday, taxis will only be back on the road on Tuesday.
