Burglaries continue to rise in Pimville, Klipspruit and Kliptown

Five cases of burglary opened in one weekend.

The high rate in burglaries is alarming and a cause for concern after five cases were reported at Kliptown Police Station this past weekend.

“Five cases reported for this weekend alone in Pimville Zone Nine and in  Klipspruit, is alarming and something drastic needs to be done,” said Kliptown Police, spokesperson, constable, Thuli Ngwenya.

She said  in two cases, incidents occurred while residents were sleeping.

“We urge residents to help each other and not turn a blind eye, when they see such incidents,”she said.

She said anyone who has information regarding the burglaries that happened over the weekend, to contact the police.

“We plead with anyone who has knowledge of the perpetrators to come forward so they could be put away. We further plead with the community not to buy stolen property as this encourages the criminals. Hence the hike of such cases,” said Ngwenya.
