Kopanong Hall damage not yet addressed

Protesters should act out of responsibility.

Ward 47 councillor Majonny Tsobane said that the damage at Kopanong Hall has not been fixed.

The hall was left damaged during a protest by Dobsonville residents over power outages.

SASSA and Home Affairs have returned back to the civic centre after relocating to Roodepoort for a few days.

Tsobane said the relevant entity is working on a budget for the repairs.

Windows in most offices were broken including those of Ward 48 councillor Jacquire Lekgetho’s office whom residents apparently protested against.

DA councillor and spokesperson on Community Development in the City of Johannesburg Municipality Nonhlanhla Sifumba, has condemned protesters’ actions saying that they should act out of responsibility and respect for property.
