Pensioners urged not to carry a lot of money

Criminals out to rob pensioners of their hard earned cash.

The rise of cases being opened where pensioners are followed and robbed after they withdraw large sums of money is shocking, this is according to Kliptown Police’s mouthpiece, Constable Thuli Ngwenya.

Ngwenya said victims are dragged into an unknown white vehicle without registration numbers and robbed of their hard earned cash.

“We have opened two cases where two pensioners were robbed after they were dragged into this particular car,” she said.

Ngwenya urged residents to assist the police in finding these suspects that are robbing the elderly.

“Residents need to work with the police to curb the spread of crime in our community,” Ngwenya said.
