Pastor Sthembiso Msibi elaborated on what the day is all about, which was prayer and motivation for the learners.

“The whole purpose of today’s event is prayer against all of the challenges, and for you learners to get to the end of your exams without any difficulties.

“We wish you all the luck and ask God to put his hand upon you,” said Msibi, addressing the learners.

The prayer session was welcomed by teachers and principals of all the schools invited. Caroline Monageng, principal of Progress Comprehensive Secondary School said it was part of getting their learners ready for the final exams which are due to start in a few days.

“This was necessitated by the usual challenges that the learners encounter during exams.

“They go through a lot of anxiety, stress and at times even attempting suicide. The school saw it as a good thing to heed the call of prayer by our neighboring church, St John,” added Monageng.

Bishop Abednego Phamotse was praised for taking the initiative of approaching principals and encouraging this prayer session as the learners come from different churches.

The service was filled with praise and worship. Phamotse and other pastors that were present prayed and blessed all the matriculants.
