Locals come out to celebrate Heritage Day in Eldos

Experience the vibrant cultural heritage of Eldorado Park as the community comes together in celebration.

September marks the annual Heritage Month celebrations in SA, and Eldorado Park pulled out all the stops to honour its rich cultural diversity.

This vibrant community came together to showcase its heritage, traditions and history at the PUSH Community Centre on 1 Boundary Road on September 23.

A celebration of unity

The festivities started with cultural exhibitions featuring traditional attire, music, dance, games and performances.

Many residents – children and parents – participated, showcasing the area’s diverse heritage of Venda, Tsonga, Xhosa and Sotho people.

The stage came alive with performances by local musicians and traditional dancers.

The energetic sounds of hip-hop, amapiano and traditional music left the audience mesmerized.

The Heritage Month celebrations also focused on empowering the youth. The workshops and interactive sessions explored cultural identity, language preservation and historical significance.
