Veteran actor; Tebogo Darlington ‘PapaG’ Ndarane laid to rest at Westpark Cemetery

The 78-year-old actor was known for his role in the soapie Isidingo and many other productions where he was a director and producer.

Veteran actor, Tebogo Darlington Ndarane well known as ‘PapaG’ was laid to rest on September 21 at Westpark Cemetery after a service held at Uncle Tom’s Hall in Orlando West.

He was described as a lover of the arts and was always involved in the community. He was a very disciplined man who never failed to show ubuntu. He was also described as the best ‘tsotsi taal’-speaker to exist.

Sipho Maholoana, PapaG’s neighbour, said, “I was touched when I heard he was no more. This affected us as a community because of the love he had and showed to us,“ said Maholoana.

He continued to say that while in mourning; it is only right to celebrate his impact and legacy.

Industry colleagues and friends all came to pay tribute to the star while a video of the star played on the screens.

“This man lying here has bought so much glory. He was hard-working and made himself what he is,” said one of his friends, Kalosi Bantu Ramakhula.

Kamohelo Ndarane, the granddaughter of PapaG said, “He was very strict. Our hearts are broken but we rest in that we saw he was sick. We all know that we live on borrowed time.”

She continued saying her grandfather was big on education and recalled how he would help with her homework and how involved he was in their schooling.

PapaG was described by mourners as a selfless man who impacted his community and held it close to his heart.
