The Commission on Gender Equality (CGE) has announced that it has been playing a major role in feeding pupils and it will still do so even in the next year.

The Commission on Gender Equality (CGE) has announced that it has been playing a major role in feeding pupils and it will still do so even in the next year.

The commission’s chairman Mfanozelwe Shozi said: “More than 7 million children get fed at our schools daily, providing much needed nutritional sustenance to the most needy in our society.

“This also helps them to keep a full stomach and concentrate and focus on their school matters so they can have a better future tomorrow, we fed millions of empty stomachs in the past years, we doing it now and we still going to do it even in the coming years.”

Shozi also wished matrics well for the upcoming exams.

“The CGE calls upon parents, guardians, relatives and community members to give matriculants ample and adequate time and space to prepare and concentrate on their exams.

“Parents and uncles, brothers and sisters are also encouraged to even helps with study groups, revision and extra work from school which helps pupils with their preparations.”

Shozi said: “It is incumbent on parents, guardians, relatives and community members to be supportive and encourage students to do well in the examinations regardless of their gender, ethnic or social origin, religious belief, sex and sexual orientation.

“Hard work, coupled with support and encouragement will inspire and ensure that students perform exceptionally well.”
