Fleurhof rugby player makes strides on the field

Jovani is a young man with Dyslexia which is a disorder that involves difficulty in reading due to problems in identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words.

A 16-year-old Jovani Ernest, who resides in Fleurhof and attends school in Roodepark High School, scored himself an international rugby tour. Jovani us a young man who has a loving for sports and he grows up participating in a lot of sports coding.

“I started playing rugby this year from school since the school games and we managed to go to Rustenburg. Since we have been there, that was when everything has started to roll out for me.

How I found out that I was selected for the tour was trough my mother.

She received an email from her laptop and she told me that I was selected. I was so excited about everything that everything is paying off. Said Jovani.

The young man doesn’t allow the negative stop him from doing what he loves.

Playing sports and taking part in sports activities is what kept him going to a point where he is. His mother being the support structure in his life, he is delighted that he made his mother proud.

“Am really proud of him. Looking at his history in sports, am really impressed. To mention a few, he took part in swimming, high jump which almost made him score a provincial opportunity and he also took part in soccer. To see him being this active rally motivates me as a mother.

“Given the fact he doesn’t allow his situation determines who he is, he is always positive and dedicated in everything in his life.” Said Dedree Ernest, Jovani’s mother.
