Three students, Thando Mngomezulu, Tshenolo Nkwe, and Sindi Sebeko from Soweto received bursaries from Boston City Campus.
The trio is part of 31 recipients that were awarded bursaries to study at Boston City Campus by reigning Miss South Africa, Natasha Joubert through her educational advocacy campaign, Natasha Joubert Collective.
Joubert launched a partnership last year with her alma mater to award 31 academic scholarships for distance e-learning studies towards a full-time undergraduate qualification.

“Without a scholarship, I wouldn’t have been able to study further. So I know exactly how it feels to be excluded because of lack of finances,” Joubert said.
The Study Buddy Fund partnered with the Miss South Africa Organisation to also fund year-long studies at Boston City Campus.
“The scholarship will help me achieve my future academic and career goals and empower me to start my own business,” said Sebeko who is currently studying for a business management certificate.
“This will help me develop key competencies that will promote my career aspects and ultimately lead to my success as an aspiring entrepreneur.”
Nkwe from Dobsonville who is a part-time mathematics and science tutor to high school learners said he was delighted to have been given this opportunity as it will contribute to both his professional and personal growth.
Explaining why he thinks he was the right candidate to be chosen for this bursary, Nkwe said, “I believe I was chosen because I showed a commitment to making a difference in our society.”

Actress and entrepreneur, Mngomezulu wants to start her own social media channels and produce podcasts to help others living with skin conditions to reach their full potential.
“This bursary is a dream come true and the knowledge that I will get after the content creation and radio production podcast qualification will be a game changer,” said Mngomezulu.
“I want to be able to create and build my YouTube channel, TikTok following and produce podcasts. I will use these platforms for people living with different types of skin conditions and create awareness around them.”
