Langa obtains top marks

Langa becomes the best performing matric pupil in Pimville with seven distinctions.

Sesedima Langa was overwhelmed with emotion when he found out that not only did he pass his matric exams, but he passed with seven distinctions.

Langa was the highest performing pupil at Thaba Jabula Secondary School and his marks also contributed to making the school the best performing school in Pimville.

Langa said that he knew that he was going to pass but he was surprised at how well he passed.

“I wasn’t expecting such marks but I am grateful to my family and teachers for the support they gave me.

“Most importantly I would like to thank God for His faithfulness,” he said.

Langa’s next goal is to attain his degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Cape Town.

“All I want now is to get my degree,” he said.

Kenneth Mphuma, the school’s principal, said he was happy that Langa did as well as he had.

“His marks prove that with hard work, anything is possible,” Mphuma said.

Langa encouraged those that didn’t make it, to persevere and not give up.

“They can write their supplementary exams and then they can pass,” he said.

He said that the only difference is that he worked harder and those that didn’t make it, should realise that it is not the end of the world.
