Mo-Afrika gets into the giving spirit

Ex-prisoners from Mo-Afrika Ihlokomele give back to different Pimville organisations.

Mo-Afrika Ihlokomele a non-profit community based organisation in Pimville gave love to different organisations before the festive season.

The organisation started in 2005 by four ex-prisoners who have collectively served over 50 years of imprisonment for various crimes and drug related offences, donated clothes, computers and printers to Sinomusa Pre-School and Challenge Day Care Centre in Zone Nine.

“We also helped with office supplies to Hlalefang Hospice and Call Group in Zone Two,” says Thabo Mametse, Mo-Afrika Ihlokomele spokesperson.

Kgotsofatso Community Development in Nancefield was also a recipient of a donation from the group.

Mametse said it is imperative that they give back to organisations that are in need because God loves a cheerful giver.

“We are obligated to our community and feel that if we don’t give, no one else will offer them the support they desperately need,” Mametsi said.

He said they give because when you give you receive.

“There were people that took care of us when we needed to be taken off, so it is up to us to give back,” he said.
