Protea Glen Curro Academy holds second annual open day

“It is our responsibility to go out there and market ourselves by informing the public about Curro Academy Protea Glen."

Curro Academy Protea Glen (CAPG) hosted its second Foundation Phase Open Day for 2023 on August 19.

The purpose of the day was mainly to give prospective parents information about access and enrolment of their children to the independent school.

According to CAPG Marketer, Dora Nkosi, the main focus is on acquisition with Curro’s main vision and mission being to make independent education accessible to all children around South Africa.

“As we are not funded by the government, it is our responsibility to go out there and market ourselves by informing the public about Curro Academy Protea Glen. That’s why today we are mainly generating those leads,” said Nkosi.

Prospective parents were taken on a guided tour by the teachers so as to show them the school facilities and what the school offers to the learners.

A parent who attended the event, Marcia Dladla said the Open Day was very informative and helpful. Teachers played a huge role by providing necessary information that helped her understand the education that the school offers to the learners.

“When we entered the school premises, the teachers were very welcoming, children were taken to a play area where they really enjoyed themselves and that’s what pleased me.

“But mostly I’m glad that I attended the Open Day because most of the important information I needed clarity on was provided,” said Dladla.

The school also hosted a sports day as a way of entertaining the learners. Different schools were invited to come and participated in different sporting activities.

“Today’s game was very exciting and it was nice to meet new people. I had a great day and I made a lot of new friends from different schools,” said a Grade six learner, Sithando Nxobeni.
