Alleged Soweto killers appear before court

The matter has been postponed to September pending further investigations.

The case against a couple accused of the murder of two Soweto boys, Tshiamo Rabanye(6) and Nqobizitha Zulu(5), has been postponed to September 15.

The pair made a brief court appearance on Friday at the Protea Magistrate’s Court.

The magistrate presiding over the matter in the absence of Magistrate David Mhango said the postponement was to allow for further investigations to continue.

Buhle Nkosi, a relative of one of the victims, Tshiamo Rabanye said she wanted to see suspects rot in jail.

She said she believes that accused number one was guilty of more murders.

“I am really sad that today I don’t have a child and since then, she has taken more lives. I want her to be charged for all the murders she has committed and the lives she has ruined.

“She must be charged with many murders because she has been getting away with this for so long,” Nkosi told the media outside of the court proceedings.

Nkosi alleges that she lost her son after he was poisoned by Ndlovu, who is an aunt to her.

“I was not around when the incident occurred because I was at work, but I learned that he was poisoned. He was 16 and my only son, so I am still devastated.

“A murder charge was opened, but she was never arrested. However, we believe that now she will pay for her crimes – one way or the other.”

Family relative, Gcina Tshabalala who spoke on behalf of the mother of Nqobizitha Zulu, Nomthandazo who did not want to speak to media following the proceedings said the family was still calling for life imprisonment for both accused and would not rest until justice was served.

“We are still hurting. We will never see the children again. It’s been a hard couple of months since the incident, we are trying to cope and are currently waiting for referrals for psychologists or social workers but every day we are trying to come to terms with the issue. We have not changed our stance on the matter. We want them jailed.”
