My Way donates to Moletsane Secondary

Community to have access to school's computer lab only over weekends.

Moletsane Secondary School, the community and its surrounding areas will now have access to computers sponsored by My Way Insurance company.

Under the My Heart Project, My Way donated 25 computers to the computer lab of Moletsane Secondary which will be used by all pupils at the school.

The community will have access to this computer lab only over weekends.

Deputy principal of the school Samual Matsena said: “The school previously had a computer lab but it was only open to specific pupils who had computer literacy integrated into the curriculum. “But now all students will have a chance to learn and explore computers”.

One of the best performing pupils at the school Keamokgetswe Motona said she was overwhelmed by the gift from My Way.

“I’m not that familiar with using a computer but I’m super excited to have access to it.
“I think my interest in working in the field of technology will grow because I will be getting the basics and that will give a head start for tertiary,” Motona said.

The chief executive officer of My Way Rene Otto said that the main aim behind this donation is to make sure that as many pupils as possible are sufficiently educated to ensure a brighter future for the country.

“What we are trying to do is not just giving back but we are committed to creating a sustainable future and the best way we know how is by passing down the knowledge we have created to the younger generation.

“64 000 jobs are open in the market but very few can fill those positions because of a lack of skills, so because our company predominantly maintains an online presence, one of the best ways we can give back is through computers which are disseminators of knowledge and will benefit the community at large,” Otto said.

Matsena says the school highly appreciates the initiative by My Way and hopes that the company continues to make a positive difference to the lives of many.
