A 52-year-old man was found drowned near the Naledi informal settlement between Emndeni and Green Village last week Tuesday.
According to police spokesperson Kay Makhubela, the man was allegedly trying to cross the water current was too strong for him and he couldn’t swim to a place of safety.
Makhubela says the police had been searching for him once the accident occurred but only found him on Tuesday at around 3pm and an inquest docket was opened for the incident.
At the same place and on the same Tuesday the man was found on, two children allegedly fell in the same stream.
The two children were allegedly on their way to school when they were spotted by a taxi driver and were rescued by him.
The two children were later taken to hospital.
In Jabulani at Koma Road a man in his late 20s allegedly threw himself onto a truck, a case of culpable homicide was opened and the case will be referred to the public protector after investigation.
