The police in Dobsonville continue to clean up the streets and leave no stone unturned with the Vhuthu Hawe Operation in Soweto.

Through its latest operation on February 23, the operation saw the arrest of eight suspects who were detained on the day within the greater Dobsonville policing precinct.
The suspects were apprehended during the joint operation between members of the Dobsonville SAPS, crime prevention unit, social crime prevention, patrollers, and JMPD for different crimes including possession of drugs.
According to Constable Vusi Thokwan, Dobsonville SAPS spokesperson the operation was yielding great results against criminals.
“The operation led to the arrest of one female and six males for possession of drugs. One was found in possession of 25 unaccounted cough syrup, and one magazine with one round found abandoned,” said Thokwan.

“The operation is aimed at reducing substance abuse and use of prescribed medicine by learners within our schools.”
The various suspects will appear before Roodepoort magistrates court in due time.
