Rose Kamowendo of Trust Condoms said the campaign was aimed at rewriting the narrative around men.

” Today we wanted to celebrate Valentine’s Day by acknowledging the good men in our society who don’t often get that recognition so we are throwing weight behind a movement to encourage men to be good men, and also celebrate them. We want to encourage men to show up and show up,” Kamowendo explained.

As part of the campaign, 500 balloons were released to mark and celebrate efforts men are putting in to become a better version of themselves. Kamowendo said they intentionally chose the day, known for lovers.

“We wanted to capitalise on Valentine’s Day, we see a lot of men doing gold gestures to their partners, however we don’t want that to be just once off on 14 Feb.

“Can we not have our men doing good throughout the year, in doing that we will have more good men in our society and that’s what we really want and trust condoms is trying to do. To support these good men and elevate them to be the pillars of our society.”

” WE encourage all men to be a part of the conversation and join the movement because who doesn’t want to be a good man but moreover, we will be having conversations among men, sharing their thoughts, lived experiences, challenges with other men,” said Kwanamdo.
