Braamfischerville cellphone thief gets 8 years in prison

This after Dobsonville Police followed intelligent information to secure an arrest on the accused and awaited a court date.

The Roodepoort Magistrates Court recently found 22 year-old Nhlanhla Pesa, guilty on charges of Robbery with a weapon on September 30.

Pesa who resides in Braamfischerville was positively identified as the suspect that robbed Murendeni of his cellphone with a knife while walking on the streets of Braamfischerville on February 18, 2022.

Dobsonville SAPS followed intelligent information to secure an arrest on the accused and awaited a court date.

Through further investigation by the detectives, Pesa was handed down an eight year sentence and was found guilty by the Magistrates Court. He was further declared unfit to possess a firearm.

Dobsonville station Commander applauded the members on a swift movement to bringing the perpetrator to book and gave words of appreciation on a step forward to removing dangerous criminals from the community.
