The Sisterhood Foundation SA run by Alicia Solomon handed out their first batch of blankets to Arch Angels Child Care Centre in Eldorado Park on May 27.

This initiative is part of the foundation’s Winter Blanket Drive and with their first handout they distributed 20 blankets.
“We plan on having one drive for the duration of June and to hand out a total of 250 Blankets during this period. Currently we are just waiting for the bulk of our blankets to arrive and then we will commence with handing out,” explained Solomon.
The foundation looks at donating to the elderly and little ones during the winter season. Ry Sky Foundation as well as Spiritual Chords have both assisted the foundation in this initiative.
“Children and our elderly are both at the heart of why Sisterhood was started. Our little ones and our elderly both rely on us as a community to love, care and assist them in various ways. A little kindness and love goes a long way with the innocence of a child and the frailty of our elderly. This is where we believe change starts,” added Solomon.
The foundation appeals to the community of Eldorado Park as well as local businesses to assist them to do more.

“A contribution is not always made in money but sometimes also just in support of the vision we have for our community. There are many small organisations that are doing such great work within our community yet they go unnoticed and rely on their own very limited resources. Help us make change possible and always remember together we can do more,” concluded Solomon.
