While professional runners take it on for a prize, this race is also meant to celebrate the country’s women and their role in our daily lives. Participants in this year’s Women’s Race will also be running for a good cause as some of the proceeds will be donated to PinkDrive to help in the fight against breast cancer.

“We have a lot to celebrate and can’t wait to get the festivities started with thousands of women across three cities toeing the line on national Women’s Day. Get ready for triple the fun in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban as women from all walks of life unite to take on a 5km/10km road run (or walk) in support of PinkDrive.”

Entries are already open online and they will close on July 26. All participants will receive a t-shirt, finisher’s medal and a headscarf.
