50 families receive parcels from PUSH

The non-profit organisation, Persevere Until Something Happens (PUSH) in Kliptown distributed 50 food parcels to disadvantaged families on April 13.

 

The non-profit organisation, Persevere Until Something Happens (PUSH) in Kliptown distributed 50 food parcels to disadvantaged families on April 13.

PUSH provides services to orphans and vulnerable children and families affected by HIV and Aids in Kliptown and surrounding areas.

According to Angelique van der Ross who is a community caregiver and social auxiliary student at PUSH, the people selected were parents of their regular beneficiaries.

They looked into the situations at home and identified those with a great need.A 10Kg mealie meal, 750ml oil, tinned fish, baked beans, soup pack, peanut butter, bar of soap and 2kg washing powder were all part of the parcels that were distributed.

“PUSH is committed to uplifting and empowering the disadvantaged people with the intervention of pioneering change by caring for others,” added van der Ross.

Kinderfonds Mamas donated funds to the non-profit organisation to assist the disadvantaged in the communities.”The organisation would love to assist more disadvantage people in the community. This was however not the first time distributing so it definitely would not be the last time we assist the community,” concluded van der Ross.
