The event was held at the E.W Hobbs Primary School Hall. Albert shared that the idea or motivation came from Ella Barrows from Mahalia Feeding Scheme in Eldorado Park Extension 2, as she is very passionate about taking care of the seniors in the community.

Ella organised the hall, decorations as well as live entertainment. On the menu was: chicken biryani, dahl, rice, samoosas, pies, fried chicken, and a variety of salads. They also had cupcakes, red cakes, doughnuts, milk tart, fat cake cocktails with different fillings and for dessert, they served ice cream and fruits.

Eldorado Park Feeding Scheme Network also assisted in making the lunch possible. The organisations plan on having their next lunch for the seniors at the retirement village and the old age homes.

Alberts would like to thank Aunty Kitty who made the doughnuts, milk tart and fat cake, and Anthea from Lael Foundation for the delicious red cakes and cupcakes. Granny Nanny foundation for the samoosas and pies, Sharlenes Heart For People (S.H.F.P) for the juice and salads.

Giving With A Purpose Foundation for the biryani and dahl curry, Mahalia Feeding Scheme for the fried chicken, rice, salads, dessert, and planning of the event.

“Caring for our seniors is perhaps the greatest responsibility we have. Those who walked before us have given so much and made possible the life we all enjoy. The best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person. Take care of them, love them. Without them we would never be,” concluded Alberts.
