Denzil Lewis who is one of the run directors said: “When we first saw this information, all sorts of emotions literally went through all of us, this includes all our volunteers. It’s an overwhelming bit of information but also a sense of gratitude and drive as we now know that our community is in it for the long haul. We are more committed than ever before to see our community rise through parkrun, bringing us together to serve one another. We can pull off another result like this for the coming week.”

The run director also shared that they are appealing to more people to registering for the event.

“It is imperative that members register before the event and print their barcodes for results scanning. We experienced minor issues with barcodes on cell phones due to bad light. Also, the non-registered members whom we cannot scan, causes traffic at the funnel,” he added.

The parkrun team sees improvements every week however, need more assistance in terms of clean-up and grass cutting weekly, especially on the path in which they use every Saturday.

The parkrun is held every Saturday at 8am at the stadium in Eldorado Park, extension 9.
