The author and entrepreneur launched his clothing store last year and outgrew the store within the space of months as they do in-house production as well.

Nomgenge recently purchased a container from a local businessman and now looks to expending by creating the aesthetic store. “We received few donations to make the container an aesthetic store. We hope to attract tourists with this container. We also had a visit from Mr Thebe Ikalafeng who is a marketing Guru in the advertising industry in Africa and more people are showing interest in coming to see this store,” said Nomgenge.

According to the entrepreneur, the store will be called the Nomgenge Duo (ND) Flagship Store and is planned to launch on February 26.

“ND aims to empower many young people in the Eldorado Park community. Our mission is to create more job opportunities for the local youth.  The majority of our employees will be from Eldos and few from outside based on their skills and experience. We would like to inspire many youngsters in the hood to be a good role model to the future generation and show them better ways of doing a clean hustle,” added Nomgenge.

When it comes to empowering the youth, Nomgenge has already hired people to put up a fence around the container and shared that councillor Dwain Ponsonby also allowed them to use the area across the road which is at the stadium where they will clean up and use it as a carwash area. The team will be maintaining the stadium area so that it can also work together with the store and empowering the youth.

“We want this to be an attraction when people come to Eldos, a place to chill, purchase items and have your car washed. We want to create that safe zone. We want to change that narrative of Eldos. We want to share our great stories, there are so many amazing people doing great things in the area and its important to share so that the world can see the good coming from our community,” said Nomgenge.
