Pimville man arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm

An investigation is underway to determine why the male got hold of these.

A 38-year-old Pimville male has been arrested by Kliptown Police for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The arrest took place on Wednesday night during a routine patrol of Modjadji Stree by the Kliptown SAPS members. Following the arrest, police also discovered a police bulletproof vest at the man’s place of residence.

An investigation is underway to determine why the male got hold of these, what he intend to use them for and if he may have any more accomplices.

The station’s Captain Hitler Ngwenya has urged residents to continue working with the police in reporting crime and those suspected to be participating in criminal activity including possession of unlicensed firearms in the Kliptown SAPS policing precinct.
