Orlando business owner showered with donations
Andile Sasanti, who manufactures yogurt made from vegetables and herbs says that 70% of the donors were strangers.
Entrepreneur and co-founder of Tesla and PayPal Elon Musk once said: “instead of baby shower, let’s host business showers. When a friend starts a business. We all come together, celebrate them, and bring resources for their business start.”
This quote has been making rounds on social media but do we see it being executed? Well, it happened in Orlando when the founder of Sasanti King, Andile Sasanti launched a new range of his products.
Sasanti King is the manufacturer of Well ‘N Well drinking yogurts made from vegetables and herbs and to make his dream of growing his business come true, strangers, friends, family, clients and other entrepreneurs came together to shower him with donations that will contribute to the growth of his business, interestingly, Andile said 70% of the people who came through were strangers.
As a manufacturer of yogurts, one may not know what to donate to his business, unlike many other businesses, he said that things like stationery donations wouldn’t add much value, so he requested donations in a form of cash.
“Elon Musk’s quote is profound but it’s never really practiced, so we are implementing it by starting a new culture of boosting new and existing businesses. However, we are not disputing the idea of baby showers, we are simply saying, while busy celebrating baby showers, also consider celebrating and showering new entrepreneurs with resources that will boost their businesses, “Andile said.
“Look, I was specific with my plea, a pen wouldn’t help in my case, we are manufacturers we need equipment and my people came through, I am grateful for each every donation I received. I was really shocked, I announced my business shower on social media and people I didn’t even know, offered donations, I appreciate each and every who supported me,” Andile added.
Introducing herbs to his range, Andile says that he will be bringing traditional healers on board since herbs are their area of specialty.
