It is alleged that a 7-year-old girl was raped on Tuesday, August 10 by her step-grandfather at Dobsonville.
“The 7-year-old was visiting her step-grandparents in Dobsonville when the barbaric act took place. It is said that her step-grandfather came to her room while the grandmother was sleeping in a different room and forced himself on her and then threatened her with a knife stating that should she speak out of what had happened he will cut her private part,” said Constable Vusi Thokwan , of Dobsonville SAPS.
Out of fear the girl child said nothing until her grandmother discovered that something was up on Sunday, August 29. “The grandmother noticed the discomfort of the child while bathing her, this is when she discovered that the vagina of the little girl was painful,” explained Thokwan.

The child was then taken to Zola clinic for assessment and evaluation. The step-grandfather was arrested and charged with rape and is set to appear in court soon.
